In the Ethiopian highlands, at around 2,000 meters, Wolfgang and Stephanie Stumph reminded of the bet that Karlheinz Böhm made 27 years ago, on the German TV show “Wetten, dass...?” (Betting that...?). Father and daughter know there are many people in the surrounding area who want to thank Karlheinz Böhm for his support, so they set out to inform everyone of the planned meeting in the evening:
The students of the Zoma Primary School, the trainees at the Alem Katema Training Center, the female potters, the people who were granted a credit, the men and women of the Ofina weaving mill and also the farmers.

“Dear Karlheinz Böhm, all of these people want to thank you and Menschen für Menschen for your dedication. And what would be better than to make a new bet, right here and now? Only today, we will do this for you.
We bet that with your help, dear viewers, in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, we will raise 4 million euros by the end of this show.”
Because that is the amount of money - in connection with Karlheinz Böhm’s 80th birthday - needed to secure an education for 80,000 children in Ethiopia. The bet will support the education program “ABC-2015”, which was launched March, this year.
“Dear viewers, donate 1 euro, donate 10 euros, whatever you can, to help these little ones. I believe that we can do this!”
