Nagaya (peace) is the name of the first Menschen für Menschen village in Ethiopia – a symbol that Menschen für Menschen also sees aid as peace work. Our information magazine of the same name, the Nagaya Letter, is published four times a year.

To honour his outstanding achievements, Harar town - situated in eastern Ethiopia - named a town square after Karlheinz Böhm. It was in nearby Erer Valley that Karlheinz Böhm started his development activities way back in 1981.

Karlheinz Böhm was awarded the Bavarian Oder of Merit. The Order and Charter of Merit is bestowed by the Bavarian Prime Minister, Mr. Günther Beckstein.
