Karlheinz Böhm is awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit for his outstanding social and humanitarian achievements. The Bavarian Order is a reward for distinguished common welfare service in the Free State of Bavaria, and it is open to both men and women. It was established 51 years ago and is limited to a number of 2000 members at a time.
As Karlheinz Böhm is currently staying in Ethiopia, the Order of Merit will be bestowed by Günther Beckstein after his return.
