Half of the people are under 16 years old in Ethiopia. And many of them live in grievous poverty. "The children do not know how it is to grow up protected and child-oriented. Often they got up before the sun was up and work. The parents could not exist without their help", so Almaz Böhm. But the children are the future of the country: Therefore the aid of Menschen für Menschen begins by the young generation. Beside orphans, pupils and students the foundation supports adults who are distinguished by destiny, poverty or illness. From disabled persons to old people without relatives to victims of catastrophic drought.

1,800 beggars find a remedy out of a life in despair because of a social fund. The life of beggars changes sustainable with low commitment of funds: The aid consists of grain, clothes, soap, blankets and care. In exceptional cases money is being paid e.g. for students, who need bus tickets, to reach University.

Already an amount of 10 Euro help children and juveniles in need to get food, clothes and school material for one month. With 50 Euro the foundation can finance a school desk and seat for two pupils. A donation of 100 Euro makes the vaccination of 30 infants possible. This is very important for a country with a life expectancy averaged 53.4 years for men and 55.4 years for women. And 150 Euro are enough to couth completely twelve children.
