According to a UNO study, the world’s population will grow to 9.3 billion by the year 2050. In the poorest 48 countries the population will increase threefold. Already today an Ethiopian family has on average six children. For it is the peoples who live in poverty and without any protection from the consequences of age, sickness or unemployment who traditionally regard children as a form of “social security”. Besides their mothers they are the main sufferers of the lamentable conditions in
Ethiopia
. That is why a large portion of our activities are targeted at the socially underprivileged. We are concentrating on culturally adapted family planning, social betterment of women, kindergartens and the care of orphans. The construction of girls’ hostels and the creation of educational and training facilities are likewise important elements of our project work and steps towards a brighter future.
