When Aster met the Menschen of Menschen social worker for the first time, she was earning no more than a few Birr with the sale of hops on the market. Essential extra income, for the money that her husband Tadesse brought home as a day labourer was far too little. Then Aster decided to take things under control. She was convinced that she was capable of doing more than merely managing her worries. A cherished dream turned into a plan: she had always wanted to open a restaurant in the Alge district. With good food, reasonable prices and friendly service. And a hotel with rooms for long-distance lorry drivers and merchants who come to the market from far away. With the aid of a personal loan Aster is today the proprietress of the Hotel-Restaurant Grum.
