The whole neighbourhood is assembled for the inauguration of the newly constructed well near to the village of Bidibora. Everyone wants to try their hand at pumping, filling their earthenware jugs, plastic canisters and metal buckets with the fresh, clean water. The children splash around and drink the cool liquid from their hands. Most people just gape and join in the joyful laughter. The scene is observed by an old woman sitting on a large stone far apart from Karlheinz Böhm and the crowd. Her head is inclined to one side; she is silent and lost in thought. After more than an hour she struggles to her feet, walks over to him supported on her stick and says: "Ato Karl, maybe you're not fully aware of what you've done. So I'll tell you: you've given us paradise!"
