Menschen für Menschen - is a registered charity and public law foundation that is politically, religiously and economically independent.

The Foundation runs development activities and supports the public health care system in Ethiopia but also enhances international understanding. Public Relation work informs the population in the donor countries about the Foundation’s activities and aims to create awareness of the people's situation in poor countries.

The Head Office of the German branch is situated in Munich. There, 17 employees account for logistics, planning and coordinating of information and PR-activities as well as the administration of funds. In addition, more than 600 volunteers support Menschen für Menschen activities to enable a maximum of help for the people of Ethiopia at very low administration cost.

Menschen für Menschen also has independent Offices in Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.
The Menschen für Menschen Germany Foundation Boards consist of the Board of Directors, the Council Board and the Advisory Council. Their members carry out any activities for and on behalf of the Foundation in an honorary capacity only.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of five members. The Board members can suggest new members for election into the Board of Directors; the Council Board must give consent.

Council Board
The Council Board consists of seven members that were originally appointed by the Founder. New Council Board members can be elected by co-election.

Advisory Council
The Advisory Council may advice the Board of Directors and the Council Board on all activities associated with the aims of the Foundation. The Advisory Council shall establish necessary contacts and help to acquire donations and co-foundations.  
At present, the Advisory Council consists of eleven members that can be elected by the Council Board for a period of five years, with a possibility to be re-elected.
