The "Schwäbische Zeitung" based in Leutkirch supports Menschen für Menschen with the initiative "A village for Ethiopia" since 2004. Up to now their readers donated 1.5 million Euro for the project regions "Kollo Siri" in the southwest and “Gardatal” in the highland of Ethiopia.

Their editors researched and documented the work of Menschen für Menschen several times on site. Finally SZ media director Joachim Umbach inaugurated a school in Gardatal and made agreements with Karlheinz Böhm about further collaborations. The Emphasis will be on school projects in the region of Babile.  Umbach returned very affected: "I realised how many aid is still needed. And I was impressed how the foundation works in Ethiopia."
