Today approx. 77 million people live in the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia on the Horn of Africa in the east of the continent. The country can look back on a thousand-year-old history. Not without reason is it considered to be the cradle of humanity. And as the country of origin of coffee. No wonder that the Ethiopian foreign trade consists mainly of the export of coffee. The history
Approx. 3.5 millions years ago Ethiopia was the first country in the world to be settled. Considerably earlier than in our latitudes, since about 330 AD, the Christian belief developed into a state religion. In the course of colonialism Ethiopia remained the only country that could never be completely conquered. The successful resistance to the Italian invaders in 1896 became a firm element of the Ethiopian feeling of national identity. Today Ethiopia is a federal republic and in 1994 it received a German-style constitution.
